Between the fair hills
estates are upright.

If only the ground came painted

and brush
replied in figures. Could you uproot
the old fences?

The hole is fair too
__________________
And a tender fever surrounds
the gardens. Don’t mind
__________________
a clear plot. Digging will render
__________________
the fountain’s source – unknown.
Better to begin speculating
__________________
through windfall striking
unexpectedly now over the ridge
__________________
And down the course, trapped
in slow mediations by a mountain
__________________
Objects have enough character
__________________
no need to make it. The water
would follow but have nothing to say.
__________________
The fields are hollow.
